So, today I have this case that I consider important to share.

I have a Solaris 10 Box. The hostname is host1 and his IP is x.x.x.x

The host was renamed to host2 and changed his IP address to y.y.y.y

The /etc/host file was changed to reflect the new IP and rebooted the host

The new host hast new name and new IP, it respond ok.

The case:

If I do a ping to host1 the addres that replay is: x.x.x.x I expected that return y.y.y.y

Te cause is the /etc/inet/ipnodes that is a link to ./host (host file in /etc/inet).
